Animal Farm was first published in England on 17 August 1945. It talks about the story of some animals living on a farm trying to stand up against the human farer, with the hope of creating an equal, happy and unbound society for themselves. Filled with enthusiasm and motivated to rule over themselves, they create a utopia of equality, freedom and justice. The book is a satirical allegorical novella by George Orwell, a must-read for young readers. Orwell was born on 25 June 1903 in Eastern In; he was the son of a British colonial civil servant. Educated in England, left Eton and joined the Indian Imperial Police in Burma, then a British colony. He resigned from his job in 1927 and chose writing as his profession. ‘Animal Farm’ is one of his most widely known notebooks of the 20th century, a fable published in 1945 based on the events of Russia’s Bolshevik revolution. The book gave Orwell a stable financial status.
