Animal Farm was first published in England on 17 August 1945. It talks about the story of some animals living on a farm trying to stand up against the human farer, with the hope of creating an equal, happy and unbound society for themselves. The book is a satirical allegorical novella by George Orwell, a must-read for young readers. Orwell was born on 25 June 1903 in Eastern In; he was the son of a British colonial civil servant. Educated in England, left Eton and joined the Indian Imperial Police in Burma, then a British colony. He resigned from his job in 1927 and chose writing as his profession. ‘Animal Farm’ is one of his most widely known notebooks of the 20th century, a fable published in 1945 based on the events of Russia’s Bolshevik revolution.
